You mentioned that you were shy and had trouble communicating with people (unless they were people that you knew well). I was exactly the same way, and I think it's a common trait with writers.<br /><br />I'm very often tongue-tied face to face with someone, but I'm usually extremely good at communicating via the written word (and letter-writing).
